Element K
In addition to the above tutorials, as a Tech
student you have the benefit of accessing the Element K Web site,
which contains tutorials on many programs. The first time you
access Element K, you'll
need to perform the following steps to register:
- Go to the Hokie Portal
web site.
Log in using your Virginia Tech PID and Password.
When you are logged in, select the "Academics and
Training" tab at the top of the screen.
Under "Computer Software Training" select the
Element K link.
Follow the steps to complete the registration process. You
will then be taken to the Element K web site.
You'll only need to complete this registration
process once. Once you are registered, in the future you may
access Element K either through the Hokie Portal or by going
directly to the Element K web site. Once at the Element K site,
log in using the boxes at the top right of the screen. Your
Username will be "VT_yourPID" (replace "yourPID"
with your Tech PID), and your password will be the same as your
Tech password. This will log you into the site and take you to
your personalized page. You can then browse the course listings to
see what is available. There's quite a few of them!
